Embedded Software (ES)

Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Area: Software development and maintenance process for embedded systems, with a focus on wireless sensor networks, networking and Internet-of-Things.

The ambition of the group is to improve the software development and maintenance process for embedded systems, ranging from simple, 8-bit microcontrollers in consumer products to complex, networked controllers in industrial applications.

Research Interests

The research focus is on the software side of embedded systems, which are characterized by their limited visibility, autonomous operation, real-time activities and constrained resources making software design, implementation, and analysis a challenging and fun (!) task.

Currently, the ES group focuses on the following themes:

  1. Wireless Sensor Networks (prof. Langendoen)
  2. Large-Scale Adaptive Systems (dr. Dulman)
  3. Collective Adaptive Systems (dr. Onur)
  4. Wireless Networking and Internet-of-Things (dr. Prasad)
